"Sport for All" is a term often used in the context of physical activity (abbreviated SAPA for Sport for All and Physical Activity). The term is primarily used by TAFISA, the world organization for Sport for All (The Association for International Sport for All). Its motto is: “Making the world a better place through Sport for All”.
Recreational sport usually says: "Come along if you can." Sport for All, on the other hand, looks at which groups face the most barriers to participating in recreational sport. These are often children and young people, women, non-binary people, people with disabilities, older people, or people who are discriminated against for various reasons. Sport for All is dedicated to creating opportunities for socially disadvantaged people to participate in sport and physical activity.
The Frisbee Festival Munich's certification as a licensed Sport for All event demonstrates that the event is recognised as an important contribution to promoting physical activity. The world organisation for Sport for All (TAFISA) uses this certification to honour events with a strong commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion. The high-profile combination of an elite sport event with grassroots sport and outreach to diverse target groups also plays a special role. The TAFISA licence is reserved for events with a strong focus on Sport for All, as these contribute to the global promotion of physical activity — especially among socially disadvantaged groups — in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the themes of the TAFISA Mission 2030.
